PB2 Syrup| I wanted an ooey gooey peanut butter, something I could pour over waffles or french toast. And I didn’t to go to the store. You all know I have PB2 on hand. The recipe I came up with is straightforward and can be thinned to your liking.
Ooey Gooey PB2 (Pourable Peanut Butter)
- 2 Tbsp PB2
- 2 tsp honey (more or less to taste)
- 1tsp vanilla extract
- 1 Tbsp liquid at-a-time (almond milk, milk, water, etc.)
- dash of salt
The easy part: put it all in a bowl and mix. It will not be a pourable consistency yet. That’s ok. Be sure to mix it well. After mixing well (for me about 1-2 mins of stirring), add additional splashes of your liquid and mix well between each splash. I used almond milk and found the taste of the peanut butter spread was unaffected.
For me, I found the consistency I wanted after 5 splashes. The key is to fully mix between each splash. (But Jason Michael, what if my splash and your splash are different? Is that a problem? A: The good new is this is Ooey Gooey Peanut Butter, not fine technique of macron feet. Just be aware as you’re getting closer to the consistency you want, the splash between “I want a little more like syrup” and “oh that’s like water” is the smallest of splashes.)
Next time, I’ll reduce the honey to 1.5 tsp.
